“I don’t know why I read Mr Navarette’s dishonest ranting.”
I don’t either. Maybe it’s because it’s soo poorly written and shallow, and he is so obviously a product of America’s affirmative action, that it befuddles us as to why he whines so much.
Others have already disproved his argument, but overall, the story of this fellow and 90% of Mexicans are clearly mutually exclusive.
I grew up in SD with a school that was 50% Hispanic, then taught, 20 years later in a school that was 80% Hispanic. Thanks to writers like Ruben and this left-wing PC world, something had changed: the kids I grew up with in the 80s WANTED to be Americans, spoke English at home, did not protest/march, etc. Now, in 2005, they, like Muslims, feel entitled, march against this country they immigrated to, do not speak English at home, etc.
I blame the courts, liberal politicians, CNN/MSNBC and writers like Ruben who focus on this issue in the wrong manner over and over.
My Jewish ancestors came to America in 1903, renounced their heritage, learned English, embraced America, and were producing Ivy League offspring w/in two generations. Hispanic can do the same, but plantation owners like Ruben and the media tell them not to.
Shame, shame…just like Jesse and Al.
