Perhaps we need to retitle “The Decline in America’s Reputation: Why?” as “The Decline in America’s Reputation: Who the fsck cares?”
I’ve never understood how most on the left are so worked up about how other people feel about them, especially when its others not equipped as moral or intellectual equivalents to judge. They’re horrified that visionaries (aka uneducated, sociopathic thugs) like Putin, Chavez, Castro think poorly of us, while disregard the judgment of the Thatchers, Sarkozys, etc. They volunteer to serve as hostages to protect Saddam’s military command and control, yet are AWOL in demanding openness for relief in Burma (in fact, they’re absolutely silent on any form of genocide, which relieves them of any moral authority).
Is this just bad upbringing in sitzpinkler-demanding pussified households, or is it the deeper pathology of the loser and wimp?
