I agree with you about the denigration of the very office of the presidency. I did not like Clinton, but I never gave into vituperation and I would become angry when people on “my side” of the political spectrum did so, because, for better worse and meriting criticism, he was the president.
You might speak of a widespread neurosis, and I could not disagree, but what I see is a very frightening cultural decline, the kind that befell Rome after the death of Marcus Aurelius.
