I’m perfectly content to be unpopular for the right reasons.
Europe has rendered itself as impotent. The UN is a cesspool of corruption. The US doing the right thing exposes them for what they are – weak, corrupt, and cowardly – and they resent us for it.
It would have help had the Bush Administration displayed some level on competence in communications and public relations. They were an abject failure in that department. They essentially ceded the entire debate to the inherently hostile anti-American left. But on the fundamentals they were correct. American efforts are now bearing fruit.
I still blame the Iraq War on Saddam, the UN, and Europe – in that order. None of them lived up to their words, resolutions, or treaty agreements.
They can dislike us all they like.
