Since I first voted in 1984, in presidential races, I’ve voted for Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush, and in ’04 voted Libertarian because both candidates were awful.
There is absolutely no way Obama gets my vote. I’m from Chicago; you DO NOT get elected as an honest man or woman in Chicago. Obama pulled dirty lawyer tricks to win his first election by eliminating other candidates from the primary ballot ( http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/chi-070403obama-ballot,1,2228553,full.story ) He has no qualifications to be President. He is the most left-wing Senator in the U.S. Senate by voting record … further left than Ted Kennedy! How is that man going to usher in “a new kind of politics?” McCain, who has never toed the Republican party line, is far more likely to be effective across the aisle than Obama is.
The man is a rookie Senator from the most corrupt big city in the most corrupt state in the country. (Where else are federal corruption convictions of top political aides pretty much routine? What other state has had 3 governors in prison in my lifetime, with the current Governor very likely to become #4?) He’s good-looking, a fine orator, and in my judgment the most dangerous major candidate for President in my lifetime. I’ve never been truly frightened about my candidate losing a race, until now.
