Fascinating interview with a brilliant historian. I consider all of his works ‘essential reading’ when pondering the state of Middle Eastern politics these days. btw, for a good backgrounder on the longstanding conflict between the State Department and US administration regarding Israel, check out, My Mission In Israel 1948-1951 (1951) by James G.
