I can’t resist a quick comment about our friend “Jean Jaures” and his preference for pseudo-intellectualism: surely you jest when you offer Noam Chomsky as a counterbalance to a real historian like Oren. Please…Chomsky is an admitted fan of such lethal thugs as Pol Pot and Mao. His sole purpose in life is to make the world safe for genocidal leftists. Edward Said was popular for the sole reason that he offered a framework for anti-westernism compatible with the fashionable post-modernism of the academy. Both will be noted by history as destructive but ultimately ineffectual poseurs.
