The inevitable result of all this media attention is precisely what Islamists seek to avoid — unwanted attention — as Americans, once again, take notice, think, and talk about dormant issues.
Since 911, Islam has never become “dormant” in my mind.
I refuse to see any upside whatsoever to the existence of a mosque/Islamic center in lower Manhattan. Swimming pool, outreach programs, community center, whatever the place touts itself as being.
Isn’t the northeast already crawling with mosques anyway, official and unofficial ?
Despite all the words thrown at it, all the alleged “debate”, such a structure at such a place would be a coup for the perpetrators of 911.
An abomination.
