Remember all the talk of “Shovel Ready” projects back when the O’Stimulus was being written. I could have possibly supported a bill written to do infrastructure projects as that would help an industry hit hard, but only about 10% was infrastructure – the rest seemed to just shovel manure.
The Interstate Highway System cost $425B in 2006 dollars and does need a lot of work – but the stimulus basically avoided highways because they are not “green”.
What really galls me is how all of the legislation of the last few years seems to be just kneecapping private business, in particular small business. The Democrats must be panning to destroy some other segment of the economy in secret right now. Please vote them out before they get the chance.
