The main feature of this decision is being missed by many.
It says to the military: Don’t take prisoners.
It says: If you do, you’ll have to worry that (a) they will demand expensive trials that will bankrupt you and (b) they will will their trial and escape.
It says to the military: Kill everyone you find. Then everything is nice and simple.
Is that really the message the liberals on the Court wanted to send?
