The prison industrial complex. You have lobbyist for the private prisons influencing lawmaking. Which in return result more minority arrest( i.e loitering). Now while in prison inmates work for all different types of industries. Inmates are paid less than minimum wage. That would be o.k. if the profits paid to the prisons went back to the taxpayers but they don’t. The prisons keep what they make on top of what the govt. pays them per inmate. This is a example of modern oppression. Here are some stats you can research.
African Americans represent 12.7% of the US population, 15% of US drug users (72% of
all users are white), 36.8% of those arrested for a drug-related crime, 48.2% of
American adults in state, and federal prisons and local jails and 42.5% of prisoners
under sentence of death.

Americans are under correctional supervision (compared to 2% of whites). Native
