Sorry correction…millions of “white” people fought and hundreds of thousands DIED fighting a civil war to ensure that Americans of African descent would be treated as equals. At no other time in the history of mankind did one race sacrificed so much to ensure the equal treatment of another race. This is a uniquely American experience. As far as I am concerned the sins of our past legacy of slavery were paid in full with the blood of our compassionate and courageous ancestors.
