LorraineS – What is it with this “our experiences” garbage. We all have unique experiences and believe me things have never been easy for white folk either. Blacks in turn do not specifically share the white experience or the Hispanic experience, so you cannot speak to it. Since you cannot possibly understand the experiences of the other races you have nothing to compare your own experience to. Intelligence, hard work and perseverance trump prejudice and discrimination any day in this country which makes us unique in the world. There is true racism and slavery happening right now in many parts of the world. To spend so much time crying about racism in America is a joke. America has provided all races a better shot at equal opportunity than any other civilization the world has ever seen. This is especially true for those of African descent. Our American history has some bad chapters in it, but hundreds of thousands of “white” people fought a civil war to ensure that Americans of African descent would be treated as equals in this society. What more do you want or expect from us?
