Obama’s Choice: 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts, or Joy Behar?
Looking back to the last National Jamboree, I notice that former Pres Bush managed to spend considerable time with the boys, as well as address the entire gathering.
By the way, “newscaper,” let me clue you in about “men…become Girl Scout leaders”
Since I have two daughters, and my wife was a Girl Scout leader, I became a Girl Scout leader as well. Hey, if you can have women as “Den Mothers” for Cub Scouts, why not? What kind of FOOL are you for NOT wanting to stay involved with your kids?
ALL the girls understood I was available to show them the “outdoor stuff,” making a fire safely, cooking over that fire, woodcraft, knots, etc. BUT NEVER was I STUPID enough to LET myself be ALONE with any of the girls, without another woman leader being present. What kind of IDIOT would open themselves up to the kind of charges of child molestation that have become rampant in our society!! Not me; when I went camping with my troop, my tent was “way over yonder,” away from where the girls and women leaders were…yet I was always within easy earshot should danger come anywhere near the campsite.
None of the mothers complained about me being a leader (besides, many of them knew my wife) yet many of these same mothers complained that they could not get their husbands to help out with their daughters. Go figure…
