You obviously meant to say “Bible tracts” and not “Bible extracts.” This is the kind of error a non-Christian makes and it sullies an otherwise fine article.
No, I meant to say “Bible extracts”. They were leaflets with extracts from the Bible on them. “Tracts” is derogatory. And I am not a non-Christian.
think the two fingers is the British version of our middle finger, IOW = F— You. (Let a Brit explain.)
Yes, that’s right.
Mary left out the most important part … where she tells us how she “went there” and when.
How about it Mary? Just when did you “go there”?
See comment immediately below yours, which is unnecessarily hostile. Last time I “went there” was walking to Finsbury Park station two weeks ago. No, I didn’t get any abuse, just stares, but I can handle that, and anyone who can’t is a wimp.
Considering folks in the UK have little right to self defense – going into “no-go” areas may be doubly dangerous.
You may go to jail if you are assaulted and attempt to defend yourself. I can see the courts showing no sympathy for the victim, claiming he was trying to be provocative by going into such an area.
And your evidence? We do have a legal right to self-defence and juries normally acquit on these grounds, apart from a few high-profile but ambiguous cases, such as Tony Martin.
This is an ignorant comment, typical of an American who thinks he knows all about the UK but doesn’t. And it is not the only one.
