I agree that Minneapolis specifically and Minnesota generally are full of well-meaning, soft-in-the-head liberal/Leftists. I used to be one of them. And yes, Keillor is one of the worst offenders.
But this is one Minnesota boy who will NEVER knuckle under to anybody who tries to take away my freedom, ESPECIALLY my first amendment freedoms. If it was Minnesota that was threatened as the UK currently is (and it could yet go that way) I would walk right down Lake Street or Nicollet Avenue or whatever area the Muslims decided was “theirs”. And since Minnesota had a brief spell of good sense and legalized concealed-carry a few years back, I’d be packing.
But lay off our carrot jello at church picnics, okay? We don’t get out much, and we’ve gotta find our distinguishing characteristics where we can. Lutefisk and Lefse certainly aren’t going to turn the trick.
