Gone are the days when real men stood for something….family, protection, honor, Country, way of life. In my youth growing up there were no gay acceptance programs, shows, books…there were no single girls/mothers having babies and their way….gangs did not and would not control streets/neighborhoods….cops gave a beating to thugs….prison used to be a bad place to be not a right of passage….parents of your block or building would straighten unruly kids out without social workers….a social worker was someone who mingled at a party with drink in hand…wearing a helmet was for the handicap in the back of a yellow bus…kids who fell out of a tree was their own damn fault and not the homeowner, city nor grower of that tree…if a kid looked down while walking they would walk into a car or angry dog. My mentors were Charles Bronson, Lee Marvin, John Wayne and the likes thereof. Patsies, lawyers, stay at home Dads, granola Fathers the LL Bean crowd now run the neighborhood; no wonder Muslim punks, gang members act wild and free for the real men are gone.
