I don’t think you’ve read much of Irving Kristol’s work. The proof is that you lump him in with David Brooks. The late Mr. Kristol is a better thinker than David Brooks ever will be. The other reason I know you haven’t read much of Irving Kristol’s work is that if you did you would know his justification for becoming a “neo-conservative” was because he came to the conclusion that a lot of the cockamamie schemes that liberals was cooking up during his time would not work. Indeed, “neo-conservative” is to come to have newfound respect for the fallibility of man and how any of his “grand solutions” in the grand scheme of things will not work and will only ensure misery.
