It’s not hard to understand the paternalistic attitude of the Left. At some point in their lives, they were told that they were the “Best and Brightest.” The really remarkable thing is that they actually believed it. If you’re one of the Best and Brightest, then it’s only reasonable to believe that everyone else isn’t bright enough to be allowed to think for themselves. Listen to liberals and it isn’t hard to pick up on their distain for most Americans.
