The point, as Brendon points out, is a “boy who cried wolf” thing. It’s not the forecasters who are the problem; it’s the environmental extremists who are using shaky data to claim that global warming will cause a great rise in the number and strength of hurricanes, and then splutter and bluster when such predictions don’t come true.
