Anyone with two brain cells to rub together could have forseen this. I’m sorry, but after hearing about a)his voting record in IL, b) his relationship to the wonderful, soulful, and totally christian, Rev. Wright, c) paid attention to the little that was said about his only two years at the fed. level, d) his not so plausibly denied relationship with Ayers (I shudder to think that useful idiot of a man has a hand in the education system) e) video clips of him speaking to groups like the SEIU…. It was all there, easily found, easily comprehended. Who he was, what he believed, and what he would like to do was easily found out, and really not very well covered over.
Add in a smidgen of attention to what Speaker Pelosi said, wrote, announced, etc, or the rantings of Reid, Rangle, Dodd, Boxer…. Easy to see. Easy to predict. People got so brainwashed with hating Bush (he wasn’t the best, but he’s far from the worst) and the young and idealistic are easy to confuse with faux inspiration that they ignored it all.
So, to say it couldn’t have been envisioned it to lie to yourself- the independants with their buyers remorse should especially be ashamed. It was there, out in the open, regardless of what he said in his campaign. You just had to look at his resume, not his campaign rhetoric.
We might get it back in the next two election cycles, but I doubt it.
