During my vacation to Southern California in 2009, I made a trip from San Diego to Los Angeles. One of the things I noticed (and was confused by) is there is a border customs station on I-5 at the NORTHERN end of Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base.

Camp Pendleton is aproximately 50 miles NORTH of the Mexican border. Why the heck is there a border customs station built there? Does the government know something We the People are not aware of? Has San Diego, Encinitas, Carlsbad, and Oceanside already been annexed by Mexico and the transfer of power just hasn’t happened yet?
What is with that border station?
