The UK is suffering from a terminal case of cognitive dissonance from which it will eventually collapse and die an agonizing death. On the one hand, the country is home to more “human rights” NGOs and charities per capita than any other country in the world. The society prides itself on being a model of openness and tolerance. On the other hand, it is open and tolerant to those who have no tolerance and are schooled in an oppressive medieval belief system they wish to see promulgated across the land. When the lion lies down with the lamb, it is clear which of the two will walk away from the dinner table.
Reuters PLC, based in London, is a perfect illustration of Britain’s deep dysfunction. Most of its correspondents and editors are either from the UK or have lived and trained there. They have become completely inured to the backwardness of Islam and are oblivious to the danger it represents to the tolerant society they worship and as journalists, are dependent upon. Consider the following story by Parisa Hafezi about an Iranian woman who has been sentenced to death by stoning for adultery.

Hafezi’s cavalier and credulous non sequitur in the last paragraph demonstrates her cognitive disconnect between human rights as embraced by the West and rights as defined by Islam. She is so “culturally sensitive”, she can apparently no longer distinguish between the two. No free society can long endure this degree of weak-mindedness.
