every schoolchild knows that the statue of Liberty was a gift from France. how is it even possible for Obama to get that wrong? most of us have known that since we learned about George Washington and the cherry tree–wonder if Obama’s ever heard that one.
this is just another example of Obama’s distinctive non-Americanness. can you imagine Obama on Christmas morning under the tree? can you imagine him wearing the coonskin cap he got by saving up box tops and watching “Davy Crockett” on TV? can you imagine him at the kitchen table memorizing the Pledge of Allegiance? by saying that being American is not a matter of “blood or birth” he exposes the fact that he really doesn’t have a clue. I guess that when we became citizens of the world, the citizens of the world became Americans. this guy is a disgrace.
btw, to the troll “Miriam Rove”: if you really wanted to have an intelligent discussion with grownups, you’d stay on topic. but you don’t, really, because what you want to talk about, always, is your hatred of Jews. maybe you should consider posting on Kos or TPM, where people will appreciate your anti-Semitism. most of us here have heard much worse–and frankly you’re getting a little boring.
