Living in Arizona must be a surreal experience right now. The state is literally being invaded by foreign nationals and the U.S. government simply doesn’t give a damn. State officials try to adopt reasonable measures to stem said invasion and they are pilloried as racist apartheid thugs. Not only that but the federal government goes to court against the state to prevent enforcement of laws which SHOULD be enforced BY the federal government. The worst criminals imaginable engage in armed violence along the border, kill law enforcement officers and transform large swaths of the state into war zones and nobody cares.
I’m not the paranoid type but I have to buy into Senator Kyl’s thesis that the Obama government wants things to get so chaotic in Arizona that the “least bad” solution will be wholesale amnesty for illegals and instant naturalization. There seems no other explanation for the federal government, so “activist” on other fronts, remaining passive in the face of this crisis.
