This sort of bs is going to lose the election for McCain. If the best case we can make for Republicanism is that we shouldn’t elect Obama because he has the attributes of a rock star then it’s all over. Let’s be real here. The electoral landscape is awful, Bush will be an invisible presence on the ticket, McCain is a deeply flawed candidate with lots of baggage that is going to come under the microscope, and the Democrats have chosen a massively charismatic guy who in many ways personifies the American dream. Apart from that all looks great for Republicans. Having seen a couple of McCain speeches now this shows all the signs of turning into another Dole candidacy with the added negatives of Bush. Trying to personify Obama as some sort of pretty boy lightweight when he’s just snatched the nomination from arguably the toughest politicians in America is not going to fly.
