LIBERTYSHIP— With respect,over 15 years of fighting and dying in that pathetic little backwater,losing over 60,000 of our finest,and you say that this country fell short of the mark in some way?I hope no South Vietnamese ever tells me that,because to me the fact that we lost that war was because the people we were susposed to be fighting for were never bothered a whole lot by the idea of living under communism.If they had been,the war would have been won in three years time.That war ripped this nation apart,took the lives of a lot of good men,and cost us a ton of money.It seems to me that people like yourself,just once,would say that you are really proud of your country’s effort but if the folks you are trying to help do not have their heart in the game then you have to give it up. Afghanistan is no different.We could continue that war for fifty years,and the end result will be the same. We owe our fighting men and women the promise that we will never again send them off to an impossible war.We are soon going to be made to understand ,that for mankinds sake Islam will have to be rolled back and utterly destroyed.It’s coming,and we will not defeat this most evil of all evils by wasting time,money,and the lives of our military in long,drawn out and useless little wars that wear us down.We have to learn to pick our battles,use ALL of the tools in our toolbox, and be completly ruthless,or we will fail.T.
