‘Cordoba’ is planned as monument to the triumph of Al Qaeda over America. To Moslems, it represents the beginning of the defeat of America by Allah.
‘Cordoba’ is the name of the caliphate that ruled in Europe and launched jihads into central France.
The Iberian caliphate was not the tolerant place of the myth. Maimonides (the great Jewish thinker who lived there) said it was an unimaginable hell on earth for the minorities. He was glad to leave. No doubt, Maimonides knew many shameful and violent acts perpetrated by the Islamic overclass that were not recorded with the neat statistical approach of today.
I don’t think we can easily dismiss Maimonides’ assessment of Cordoba.
