Nothing in the way of fines or jail time really stops the habitual drunk driver. They may look like you and me but they are committing suicide.
Effective controls such as committment to Alchohol Rehab Centeres,Extended Probation, Limited Driving Priviledges,License revocation, Jail Time are all being used in CA…with very mixed and disappointing results.
These criminals should be institutionally committed as dangerous to life and limb,not just to themselves but to innocent others.
Penalties need to be even more severe and publicized.
