What has escaped, if it ever was in the clutches of, the POTUS is that leadership, like it or not is the mantle of POTUS as much as mini dictator. To disregard that not only impugns his character and authority, not to mention his motivations, it demonstrates contempt for the office itself and the people who have seen it in their best interests to entrust him with, rightly or wrongly. Whether or not he ever had intentions of fulfilling those expectations, as it appears to be the case, is beside the point. Almost daily the crises he sought to use to dismantle free markets, capitalism, individual freedoms and liberties seem to be having the reverse effect on his agenda and by association the president himself. The press should feel dirty after the way they have been used and the way in which they eagerly cashed in their credibility currency they believed they earned from the American people in order to be the whores of the president rather than the advocates for liberty.
