If the Iranians are dopey enough to try a naval action in the Mediterranean,
Israel will destroy their navy and their ruling clique utterly.
If it’s Turkey, that could be another matter. A Turkish military intervention could spark a regional war, with Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria joining in.
No matter what Obama’s shortcomings, even he must know that a regional war is not in our interest. I predict that–not just the US–but Germany, Japan, France et al will lean hard on Turkey not to provoke a naval clash with Israel.
I daresay they are already leaning on Turkey, even now.
