You really like using that Sunshine Patriot term. Thomas Paine used that term when when the American Revolution was at it’s low point and it seemed we might lose. In fact here’s the whole qoute:
These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.
Now who do the Sunshine Patriots sound like? Could it be the ani-war left who shuns any service and who can’t stick it out when things get tough? Actually Sunshine Patriots are the most patriotic part of the left, most of whom are stuck in stuck in a hate America mode for the last 40 years.
