BP and other companies are looking into alternative fuels. We have been doing so for decades. The truth is that without heavy subsidies no company is going to do this work because they know the payout is minimal. These alternative sources can provide only limited amounts of what we need. We are a world that runs on oil, like it or not, and we can’t change overnight. It took 100 years to get to this point. It is immature to think we can just switch to unproven and ineffective sources and retain our lifestyles. If, on the other hand, your goal is to live in some environmental Utopia, I suggest you go to bed and dream. That’s the only way it’s going to happen unless we return to the Stone Ages.
