With all due respect Ustaz Walid, you didn’t even read the whole article. The guy said that the phrase “religious dialogue” is a misnomer, not that he didn’t think solving things between religions was a good idea. In fact he agreed that there are problems between Muslims and Christians which need to be solved. Specifically, he said it is understandable that people are upset about the treatment of Christians in Egypt and the sectarian violence, and that Muslims should take their heads out of the sand. He also appeared to condemn the lack of diversity of opinion in the Middle East (which he ties to the days of Nasser and his expulsion of minorities such as Jews and Greeks). Rampant Extremist? Or do you just not read Arabic?
