Most of our founding fathers were Free Masons, there is a copy of a Bible and a Koran that they acknowledge when taking thier oath.
Many, not most, of them were Freemasons. I can’t attest to the Koran thing, but I do know that Protestant Christianity was dominant in the American colonies, and the world view and attitudes and practices of its adherents, even the casual ones among the founders, was central to the ideals of the new Republic.
