I don’t want to sound crazy or anything (though I sure feel like I’m getting there), but I’m fairly certain that people like Mr. Tallabas don’t honestly care about the benefits that might come from higher gas prices. Even if those benefits came to pass, it would only be by going in the direction they want anyway: greatly expanded control over minute details of the lives of normal people, while those in charge get a free ride. This is communism, pure and simple, and I pray that enough people will wake up and stop it before it’s too late.
