Having been arrested 3 times for DWI, I had no shame. It has been 12 years since I had a license, I got it back less than two weeks ago. I can say with complete certainty that if I had not completely stopped drinking 9 years ago I would be getting my fourth DWI any day now; active alcoholics don’t care about your rules, your photos, nothing other than alcohol. I’m not saying anyone that proclaims they are an alcoholic, or worse yet; that the court decides is an alcoholic – shouldn’t be allowed to drive; but breathalyzer ignition locks should be mandatory upon the first conviction.
