As a UCI alumus, I’m suprised the MSU keeps inviting Abdel Malik Ali – he’s a PR disaster every time he comes, making them look kookier to every new entering undergraduate class.
But don’t expect the UCI administration to sign up. It’s not their job, and if they did sign up it would instantly turn the MSU into the underdog fighting a hostile administration.
More importantly, it’s just not the chancellor’s to do your heavy lifting. The only way to fight speech is with more speech.
It’s a lot better to do what you’re already doing: getting the word out about what the MSU is doing and saying. Transparency is the best way to fight hatred – keep up the good work on keeping ‘em honest.
