Amen! The way we do immigration these days is not only shameful, it is stupid, counterproductive, and in our own worst, repeat worst, interests. The only question in my mind is whether the politicians who rail about immigration are merely pandering to idiots rather than bothering to try and educate them, or are simply exceptionally stupid themselves. Or both, of course.
