Obama’s Known of Al-Qaeda Ties with Iran for a Year, but Still No Action

Iran has considered itself at war with the United States since the fall of the Shah in 1979.
So why hasn’t the US considered itself at war with Iran??? (It kind of did during the 1979-1980 hostage crisis, but that’s it.)
Since 1979, Iran has taken over the US embassy, actively encouraged and assisted terrorism around the world, and even trained and supplied insurgents actively attacking/bombing/targeting/etc. US troops in Iraq. Oh, and they’re building nukes, too. And they talk about wiping our ally, Israel, off the face of the map.
No other country in the world (even North Korea) is currently more belligerent towards the US than Iran.
