Ah! But there’s the rub. They’re not the ones in charge of public opinion. The brains behind the opinion part of what they do are behind the scenes – the editors, directors, writers, and producers, you know, the ones too ugly to be allowed in front of the cameras because they don’t want the audience running out of their homes screaming in terror. These wizards behind the curtain intentionally hire the most vapid and vacant people to man the “news desks” so long as they are at least marginally attractive. I.Q. never enters into the hiring equation. Well, only the lack thereof, I should say. The stupider the pretty face is, the better for the Mandarins. It just makes it so much easier to control what they think and say.
