My logic professor in college always said, “If someone can’t argue on the merits of fact, watch out for the ad hominem attack.” In other words, “I refuse to respond to your argument because you’re a stupid, neocon, racist.” You literally hear this type of “argument” constantly instead of debates dealing with facts.
