You will never get America back if you insist too exclusively on a traditionalist belief in God. The Constitution is our foundation, not the literal dogmas of your creed, even if some of their moral implications contributed. If you imagine that the jealous or even loving god that you picture is identical with the absolute, your “restored” America will already be riven between believers and nontheistic political conservatives. Do you want to start with such a split, or are you imagining that once the mooching nihilists are gone, you will convert those whose firm self-reliance and ethical principles are not derived directly from your book?
