With Sarah Palin as POTUS, and Rick Perry as governor of Texas, the stage is set.
Perry is the most important man in the country. If he quietly and effectively lays the groundwork for Texas to secede, and Sarah, if not for it outright believes Texas has grounds for secession, she will be lukewarm in forcing them back into the union.
If Texas seceded, the other Red States would follow for sure as they would be left in a Blue Country electorally that would then make the final moves to transition the other 49 to a western europe style socialist state.
Now that would be a blockbuster movie that would pack them in.

The Trailer would show Sarah and Rick at night walking together at the Alamo. They agree that the only way at this point to save the Republic is to start a new one as it is apparent that the USA cannot be saved and kept together in its present form of 50 states.
Trailer 2 shows a shipment of Chinese weapons arriving across the Rio Grande. A convoy of Oklahomans crossing the boarder with rifles, ammo, food and water, and their families. The thirst for freedom is too much. Wealthy Leftists in Austin live in fear not knowing their future in a free Republic, begin to pack for another state.
Like the birth of India and Pakistan, the dual migrations begin.
