Well, Bush just assumed dictatorial powers without Congress voting on it.

Alas, we cannot in good conscience rebuke another country for practically anything any more. We’re the country that says torture isn’t torture, that the mere threat of terrorism is enough to give up the rights our forebears fought a revolution for.

We are hypocrites. Our president is a dictator-wannabe. He just isn’t any good at it.
