Its always sad when someone dies before their time under tragic circumstances. IMO Rachael Corrie death was at worst an accident (kneeling, slipped – armoured bulldozer with limited vision, impervious to sound, etc)probably involantry suicide. Her parents bear the most blame. If you allow your children play with fire – expect them to get burned.

The question I pose to this board is what makes a person brought up in an environment that tolerates freedom of expression burn the flag symbolozing that country?

Is it:
1. To demonstrate those freedoms that the flag stands for?
2. A cowardly act because doing somthing like burning the Iranian flag in Iran (Saudi-Arabia, Lybia etc) would not be tolerated and the consequences thereof would be immediate?
3. A sign of ignorance, stupidity etc?

My question to ISM and like organisations is:
1 Who is protecting the rights of the innocents in the Gaza Strip from the Hamas? 2.Surely not everyone supports the Hamas regime and don’t they have a right to be heard? (Should woman and gays not have rights to?)
3. Are you proposing that 4 million Jews be removed from Israel, their homes destroyed, and then re-settled (where?) This to protect the rights of a million Arabs who are where they are now, living off welfare and charity (not allowed to be absorbed by their brothers living in vast regions with ample resources). Does this goal make sense?

In conclusion – stepping into a region where the local people are persectuted by their own elite (hamas) – ignoring their plight as it would be too hard to take up this cause (nothing but the party line is tolerated) – siding with this elite in their stated goal of destroying Israel (easy enough in Gaza) – is nothing but an act of cowerdice that serves to perpetuate the conflict in genral and add to the misery of the innocents that are tired of the brutality of Hamas.
