Circulating tubes of algae can produce a constant, year-round supply of biodiesel using a closed-water supply. The water and the land used can both be poor quality and the tubes can be arranged verticaly so you get 3d (not just 2d) use of the land. The CO2 from production and burning the fuel nets out.
