Fundamentalist Islam is the issue…but the West is blinded by their multicultural deity. When Iran builds it’s nuclear bomb, I suspect they will use it when they have enough to nuke the major cities of Israel…when millions have died for a demented religion only then will the world wake up…but, by then, most of the large cities in the Middle East will be glowing husks, in return, we’ll all be wondering what went wrong, “how could this have happened?”

I can happen and will happen if the viscious regime in Tehran is permitted to finish their bomb program. They will probably achieve that goal within a year. Even if they do not immediately bomb Israel, the nuclear arms race (including Bio and Chemical weapons production) in the region will be very ugly. You can bet Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey will all immediately begin to develop similar weapons capabilities. They’ll have to in order to survive.

If the idea of Iraqi regional hegemony (under Saddam Hussein) was frightening, what about a region dominated by religious zealots who see nothing wrong with raining rockets (as well as suicide bombers) on civilian populations…?

Now is the time to follow the advice of Theodore Roosevelt, and speak softly while showing the very large stick to the Iranian regime. If we do this while it’s simultaneously being rocked by protest inside as well as shutting off the spigot of gasoline (Iran has almost no ability to produce distilled oil products)…the regime will collapse in a few months.
