The U.S. will strike Iran before the elections, in order to destroy the Revolutionary Guards’ offensive military capabilities. This is the only way peace will be achieved in Iraq and the wider region.

Currently the Israelis and the Syrians are talking, much to the surprise of everybody. It seems that the Syrians are positioning themselves for a post-Iran reality.

In fact, most of the recent American, Gulf Arab, and Israeli actions make sense only within the context of a greatly weakened Iran that is no longer providing arms to the Madhi Army, Hamas, and Hezbollah.

A sustained bombing campaign using B-2 stealth bombers, naval air assets, and cruise missiles would destroy the Revolutionary Guards in a few days.

The Iranians use a Russian air-defense system that the Israelis–using American equipment–were able to knock utterly out of action. Essentially, Iran has no defense against an air campaign.

The Iranians may try to launch a wave of missiles at Israel in retaliation, but the Israelis have already warned the world that they will respond with nuclear weapons. I believe them.

The alternate to all this is to let Iran continue to expand its influence, destabilizing the region, destabilizing the global oil market, and soon getting its hands on nuclear weapons, which its leaders have said they would use without hesitation.

An air campaign against Iran would be risky, but doing nothing will lead to a much broader war in the future.

It’s time we end this threat once and for all. The Iranians have been supporting international terrorism for thirty years. They must be stopped.
