Cuba during the Fulgencio Batista era was corrupt and he needed to be squeezed out of power. Still, the country’s economy was consistently growing as well as its middle class. Cuba required a political evolution—but not a revolution. The peasant class had next to nothing to do with the overthrow of Batista’s government. Nope, that honor mostly belonged to the spoiled brats of affluent parents comparable to our own Jane Fonda and Bill Ayers. The irony is that these useful idiots were among the first to be pushed to the side by Castro once he gained power.

The CIA has been a left-wing organization since its very beginnings. Its spies and officials were normally recruited from the Ivy Leagues. These “elites” were inclined to fall for any lying tyrant espousing utopian doctrines. They desperately wanted to believe! The warning signs regarding Castro were fairly clear and unambiguous for those not desiring to be deluded. In this respect, Castro had much in common with Obama.
